Welcome to Wayneco Energy Services
The goal of our firm is to develop concepts and specialty products to optimize the efficient use of reciprocating compression equipment, be it mainline transmission, gas storage, gathering, plant air or process flow streams. The gains can come from reductions in fuel use from improved efficiencies and/or lower maintenance expense. Lower HP per MMSCFD, coupled with improved mechanical reliability, the elimination of end deactivation and it’s many negatives, can improve loading flexibility and the unit’s operating range. Reducing the parasitic HP losses of deactivated ends either through more efficient unloading or eliminating deactivation saves big dollars. New valving technology has provided operating histories of major application gains from large HP losses that occurred from conventional valve concepts being unable to efficiently address significant increases in a plant’s suction pressure. Operating with all ends active, rather than with ends out, saves both fuel and maintenance cost. The scope of our firm’s application expertise covers various aspects of compressors, it’s valving, load devices, automation, associated auxiliary equipment and support systems that can include, any or all of the following:
-
Valve retrofit upgrades, in standard versions of both plate and poppet, together with high flow, perimeter poppet valves, that can double the number of poppets per valve hole;
-
Clearance pockets, end deactivators and capacity control systems, in either digital or stepless analog versions;
-
Monitoring systems and end devices for measuring level, pressure, dP, vibration, temperature and flow;
-
Temperature regulation, valving and control concepts for cooling water & lube oil heat exchanger systems;
-
Hydraulic powered fin fan motor systems for aerial cooling heat ex-changers, using low speed, US equipment;
-
Plant air compressor piping, header check valving and cooling water systems;
-
Specialty bolting fasteners for crossheads, piston ends, anchor bolt systems and piping flanges of all types;
-
Air driven stud removers and installers for stud sizes from 3/8" thru 6" diameter;
-
Custom designed "electro-pneumatic" digital/ analog control systems for hazardous, Division 1 service areas, that are manufactured & tested to ISO 9001 standards at an"UL Approved" facility, from CAD drawings;
-
Pneumatic and electrical specialty control devices supplied for industrial service needs using quality vendors;
-
Training sessions for plant personnel are available for all of the above responsibilities.
Our staff has been deeply involved in compressor upgrades since the early 1960's, when remote plant control, unattended operation was 1st applied to engine-compressor pipeline facilities. The early installations included significant monitoring capability, automatic sequencing of engine starts that included the repositioning of the lead-line valves, capacity control using torque measurement based on speed and furl rate, that was sometimes combined with ambient rerate horsepower use and programmed analog speed control of hydraulic powered fin- fan aerial cooling systems for scheduling tutbo air, jacket water and lube oil temperatures. These early systems employed mostly pneumatic equipment, noting that many of these vintage systems still continue to provide reliable operation after 30+ years of service. The basic ideas and logic concepts used in these early automation packages continue to be used as the essential ingredients that are employed in the newest computer systems. The new packages provide expanded flexibility, but do have much faster obsolescence over their pneumatic counterparts, noting the latter continues to be less susceptible to operating problems from, lightening, moisture, vibration, humidity and ground faults, than the low energy current powered electronics of PCs and computers.
