The following two badges are actually first pattern pilot qualification badges in gold and silver of the "secret" Bulgarian Air Force. Technically they are referred to as Flyers of Tourist Aircraft. They were awarded at a time when Bulgaria was prevented by the Treaty of Versailles from having a military air force. The silver badge was given to the more senior pilots. Both badges were frequently awarded to Luftwaffe pilots.
