From David - "I believe this to be a 1924 Pattern RAAF pilot’s wing. Not a common wing to find."

This is possibly one of the earliest pilot wing insignia of the Royal Australian Air Force, which was formed as an independent flying force in 1921. This followed the disbandment of the Australian Air Corps (1919-1921), a temporary organization created while the Army and Navy negotiated what the new forcewould become. The AAC followed the Australian Flying Corps (1912-1919), which was an Army sub-unit. The wing features an olive colored wreath with 11 feathers in the wing.
