The Swiss Air Force was very active during WWII, despite being a neutral nation, defending any incursion into Swiss airspace. The air force uniform was a 1930 design worn by all army forces. The air branch was indicated by black corps color and a winged pair of swords on the sleeve. Qualified pilots wore a small bullion winged propeller over their left pocket.
